Drug-free Chronic Pain Relief

Peripheral Nerve Stimulator

Discover the breakthrough, 60-day Peripheral Nerve Stimulator treatment designed to provide significant, long-lasting pain relief without the need for opioids or permanent implants.

What is Peripheral Nerve Stimulation?

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation (PNS) is a 60-day therapy for chronic and acute pain. Unlike traditional implants, this stimulator is temporary.

Short-term treatment.
Long-term relief.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation works by targeting the nerves causing your pain, while re-educating your brain’s pain signals during the 60-day treatment. The treatment provides relief that endures long after the device is removed.

Drug-free.
No surgery.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation avoids the use of any opioids or long-term medication, so you can benefit from pain relief without the side effects of medication.

Not permanent.
Easily removed.

Applying the Peripheral Nerve Stimulator requires no incisions and no permanent hardware, and it is easily removed at the end of treatment.

Non-destructive.
No burns, no cuts.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation is a low risk alternative to more invasive treatments such as ablation, permanent implants, or surgery. The treatment is shown to provide significant and sustained pain relief in clinical studies when prior treatments such as opioids or injections have failed.

Ultrasound-guided
for Precision.

The Peripheral Nerve Stimulator uses a thread-like wire to stimulate the nerve. This wire is carefully placed using precise ultrasound-guidance. This wire is inserted through a small needle and placed near a specific nerve.

Who is Peripheral Nerve Stimulation for?

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation is cleared for use on a wide range of pain conditions throughout the body (excluding the head and face). It is an ideal option for patients seeking an alternative to surgery or heavy medication. It is most often used to treat the following conditions:

  • Shoulder Pain

  • Knee Pain

  • Hip Pain

  • Ankle Pain

  • Foot Pain

  • Elbow Pain

  • Hand Pain

  • Wrist Pain

  • Sacroiliac Joint Pain

  • Post-Operative Joint Pain

  • Non-Operable Joint Pain

How does Peripheral Nerve Stimulation work?

The Stimulator System system uses mild electrical stimulation to interrupt pain signals and boost healthy, non-pain signals.

 Wire Lead

A tiny, thread-like wire (thinner than a hair) is placed under the skin near the target nerve with electrical pulses.

Pulse Generator

The Pulse Generator is a matchbox-sized wearable device that connects to the wire lead and delivers gentle electrical pulses.

Pain Relief

Over the 60-day treatment, these electrical pulses "re-educate" the nerve, effectively turning down the volume on your pain.

What to Expect During Treatment

The Procedure

  • A minor, outpatient procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

  • No incisions—the wire lead is placed using a small needle.

  • You go home the same day.

Days 1 - 7: Recovery

  • Limit strenuous movement near the treatment area to allow the lead to settle.

  • You may shower (with the device disconnected), but cannot submerge the area (no swimming/baths).

Day 60: Removal

  • The wire lead is removed in a simple office visit (similar to removing a bandage).

  • The majority of patients experience sustained pain relief long after the treatment has been completed, up to two years.

Clinically Proven Pain Relief.

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation treatment data of over 6,100 patients shows over 71% of patients experience significant pain relief and/or improvement in quality of life following the 60-day treatment.

Should the temporary Peripheral Nerve Stimulation device not deliver the desired results for you, you may be a good candidate for a more permanent device treatment.

FAQs

Will it hurt?

  • You may feel a mild tingling or vibration, but the stimulation should be comfortable.

  • You control the intensity with a hand-held remote.

Can I move around?

  • Yes! After the first week of limited activity, you can return to most normal daily activities.

Is it covered by insurance?

  • Only Medicare plans and VA insurance will cover the Peripheral Nerve Stimulation treatment.

  • Our team can help navigate the approval process.

What if it doesn't work?

  • Should the temporary Peripheral Nerve Stimulation device not deliver the desired results for you, you may be a good candidate for a more permanent device treatment.

Safety Information

Peripheral Nerve Stimulation should not be used if you have an implanted active cardiac device (like a pacemaker), deep brain stimulator, or if you have a tape or adhesive allergy.

Do not undergo an MRI while the device is in place. All components must be removed before any MRI scan.

The most common side effect is skin irritation (redness/blistering) from the adhesive pads. There is a small risk of infection (1 - 2%) or lead fracture, though serious adverse events are rare.
